Chad (Arabic:تشاد , Tašād; French: Tchad), officially the Republic of Chad, is a landlocked country in central Africa. It borders Libya to the north, Sudan to the east, the Central African Republic to the south, Cameroon and Nigeria to the southwest, and Niger to the west.
Niger, officially the Republic of Niger, is a landlocked sub-Saharan country in Western Africa, named after the Niger River. It borders Nigeria and Benin to the south, Burkina Faso and Mali to the west, Algeria and Libya to the north and Chad to the East.
Kano is the administrative center of the Kano State and the third largest city in Nigeria, in terms of geographical size, after Ibadan and Lagos. Also, in population, it is the third most populous city (with a population of 3,626,204) in the country, trailing Lagos and Ibadan in that order.
Maradi is the third largest city in Niger and the administrative centre of the Department of Maradi. It has long been a merchant city, on the route north from Kano.
Zinder is the second largest city in Niger, with a population of 170,574 (2001 census) now it is about 200,000. It is situated 535 miles east of the capital Niamey and 149 miles north of the Nigerian city of Kano.
