Greenland Sea

The Greenland Sea is an area of the Arctic Ocean between Greenland, Jan Mayen and Iceland, spanning some 465,000 square miles (1,205,000 square km).

Jan Mayen Island, a part of the Kingdom of Norway, is a 55 km long (southwest-northeast) and 373 km² large arctic volcanic island in the Arctic Ocean, partly covered by glaciers. It has two parts: larger Nord-Jan and smaller Sør-Jan, both linked by an isthmus 2.

Ittoqqortoormiit (Danish: Scoresbysund) is a town in East Greenland. The town is located at approximately near the mouth of Kangertittivaq (Danish: Scoresby Sund).
