ドイツ連邦共和国（ドイツれんぽうきょうわこく）、通称ドイツ（旧西ドイツ）は、ヨーロッパ中部にある連邦制の共和国。首都ベルリン。
フランス共和国（フランスきょうわこく、République française）、通称フランスは、西ヨーロッパに位置する国。ベルギー、ルクセンブルク、ドイツ、スイス、イタリア、モナコ、アンドラ、スペインと陸上国境を接する（この他海外領土サン・マルタン島でオランダとも陸上国境を接し、仏領ギアナではスリナム、ブラジルと陸上国境を接する）。
スロベニア共和国（スロベニアきょうわこく）、通称スロベニアは、中欧の国。首都はリュブリャナ。
スイス連邦（スイスれんぽう）、通称スイスは、永世中立国、直接民主主義国家として有名なヨーロッパの連邦制国家である。ドイツ、フランス、イタリア、オーストリア、リヒテンシュタインに囲まれた内陸に位置する。国内には、多くの国際機関の本部が置かれている。
ウクライナ（ウクライナ語：Україна、英：Ukraine）は東ヨーロッパの国。東でロシア、南で黒海、西でハンガリーやポーランド、スロバキア、ルーマニア、モルドバ、北でベラルーシに接し、ウクライナのクリミア半島にはクリミア自治共和国がある。旧ソビエト連邦の中では比較的発展していた国。スラヴ系の民族が住み、文化的にはポーランドなど東ヨーロッパの国々との関係が深い。なお旧ソ連時代から、ソ連とは別枠で国際連合（国連）の原加盟国であった。
ポーランド共和国（ポーランドきょうわこく）、通称ポーランドは、政治的には東欧に分類されてきたが、ヨーロッパ共産圏の消滅後は、中欧または中東欧に分類されるようになった。首都はワルシャワ。
